Trexler Nature Preserve

The Trexler Nature Preserve (formerly the Trexler-Lehigh County Game Preserve) is a public park for the use of the citizens of Lehigh County. Bequeathed by General Harry C. Trexler, the entire 1,100-acre property is an invaluable resource which provides opportunities to promote the physical, mental and social well-being of Lehigh County citizens.

A variety of physical activities performed in tune with the natural state of the property such as hiking, cross-country skiing, running, and fishing are being promoted within the preserve.

Activities at the Nature Preserve promote as many positive human/wildlife interactions as possible, thereby fostering a sense of responsibility to the Nature Preserve and nurturing the public’s understanding of its role as a steward of that particular environment. Increased sensitivity to man’s impact on one section of Lehigh County is expected to engender a greater responsibility to a larger environment.

The Nature Preserve is maintained for its citizens by the County of Lehigh supplemented by collaboration with partners representing state, municipal, business, educational, social, cultural, philanthropic, and environmental interests. The good health of the preserve and its plant and wildlife remains a constant goal of the County and the citizens who enjoy it.
